Legal Services
Under the direction and guidance of the Director of Legal Services, the Legal Services Department provides a full range of legal support and advice to the Halton Regional Police Service and the
Halton Regional Police Services Board
.
An important part of the advice provided relates to the identification and management of risk and liability arising from the day-to-day administration and operations of the HRPS.
The
Freedom of Information Unit
reports to the Director of Legal Services.
The Legal Services Department works in cooperation with every area of the organization, and also appears when required before courts, boards and tribunals on behalf of the
Chief
, the Halton Regional Police Service, and the Police Services Board.
