Motive8 is a follow-up program to
D.A.R.E. that addresses drug abuse prevention at the Grade 8 level. The program was developed to support young adolescents at a time in their lives when they are vulnerable to negative influences.
It is not part of the D.A.R.E. Program or D.A.R.E. curriculum.
Motive8 consists eight (8) lessons, two of which (#3 [Cannabis, Raves and Designer Drugs] and #4 [The Law and Community Resources]) are taught by a Halton Regional Police Service officer. The remaining lessons are taught by teachers and a Public Health Nurse.
Motive8 was developed with support from a number of community partners, including:

- Halton Social and Community Services
- Halton District School Board
- Halton Catholic District School Board
