The Town of Milton, Canada's fastest-growing community, covers an area of 366
square kilometres, and has a population of more than 58,700.
Policing responsibilities for Milton are combined with those of Halton Hills (Georgetown and Acton) to form 1 District.
Four platoons of uniform officers, led by a Staff Sergeant and supported by an Inspector and civilian staff, are responsible for delivering frontline policing services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Milton is also supported by a Detective Sergeant who oversees the Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB).
The Milton police station is the primary reporting facility for staff working in the Milton/Halton Hills District, and several supporting functions are performed out of this location.
In addition to frontline officers assigned throughout the community, a Village Constable is assigned to Downtown Milton.
The Community Support Officer program and volunteer staff, as well as HRPS traffic-related issues and initiatives are all part of the policing service that is delivered in Milton.
In keeping with Halton Regional Police Service's community-based policing approach, each area has established Community Consultation Committees. These committees provide a public forum for police officers and members of the public to work together in developing policing strategies to best serve their respective area.
