Our Media Relations Officers are the official spokespersons for the Halton Regional Police Service and act as the primary liaisons between the police service and the media.
Communications for emergency and major incidents
Whenever feasible, the Halton Regional Police Service will provide information to the public on emergencies and major incidents. Such information is released through direct notification to media agencies and postings to our website and Twitter account. If necessary, the information will include alert or warning messages and instructions.
The immediate release of information will be dependent on public, victim and officer safety concerns as well as investigative integrity.

Male Commits Sexual Assault while Travelling on Go Transit Bus

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made an arrest and laid charges in relation to a sexual assault that occurred on a Go Transit Bus.
On February 26, 2024 at approximately 12:45 pm, a male suspect exposed his genitals and masturbated while making physical contact with a female passenger. The bus was westbound through the City of Burlington. The female alerted the driver and did not suffer any physical injuries.

The Halton Regional Police have made an arrest in connection with an auto theft investigation in Oakville.
On Monday February 19 2023 at approximately 8pm police attended the parking garage of Oakville Trafalgar Hospital regarding an investigation into two stolen vehicles. The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has completed a drug investigation in Burlington that ended with multiple arrests, more than a dozen charges, and significant gun and drug seizures.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has arrested a fourth suspect in relation to this robbery.
On March 4, 2024, officers arrested a 17-year-old male of Toronto in Toronto.
