*UPDATE - Two Students Injured During Disturbance at Oakville High School*
Police have determined that today's altercation was an isolated incident and took place within the confines of the school property, but not the school itself. The individuals involved were known to one another and are all students of WhiteOaks Secondary School.
The primary victim was transported to an area hospital and received treatment for a minor laceration to his abdomen, while the secondary victim was treated at the scene for a superficial wound to his hand, sustained while attempting to intervene in the melee.
The weapon involved was a small pocket knife and was recovered by police during the investigation.
A 17-year-old youth from Oakville is charged with Assault With a Weapon. His identity is protected under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
The Halton Regional Police Service are grateful for the assistance provided by the Halton District School Board and particularly the staff of WhiteOaks Secondary School during this investigation.

Two Students Injured During Disturbance at Oakville High School
The Halton Regional Police are currently at the scene of a reported disturbance that took place at WhiteOaks Secondary School, 1330 Montclair Drive, Oakville.
On Thursday June 14th at 12:25 p.m, police were notified of two students from the school that had been injured following an altercation with another student.
One of the injured students has been transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The parents of the injured students have been notified by police.
A suspect is in custody and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
