Police Attempt to Ascertain Circumstances that led to Injuries

The Halton Regional Police Service is investigating an incident involving a 56-year-old Burlington resident who sustained serious head injuries in unknown circumstances.

On June 27th 2012 at approximately 12:30 p.m., a motor vehicle collision occurred in the area of New Street and Burloak Drive, Burlington.

The collision was very minor in nature and involved two vehicles. One of the involved vehicles did not remain at the scene and was located by police nearby on Burloak Drive.

Police found a male in the driver's seat who had obvious injuries to his head and elbow. Further investigation led investigators to believe that the male likely acquired these injuries prior to the collision.

The male was subsequently transported to the Hamilton General hospital for treatment and is currently listed in critical but stable condition and is unable to talk with police at this time.

Police are appealing to the public in the hopes of gaining some knowledge of how the male sustained his injuries.

The male is described as 6 feet tall, medium to heavy set, with light brown hair and blue eyes.

He was operating a black Pontiac Montana minivan during the morning hours and it is believed he would have been most likely driving in the Oakville - Burlington area. He may also have frequented a local restaurant in the area prior to the incident.
