Sexual Assault 
 
 
Sexual Assault is a criminal offence that can range from a touched buttock or breast to forced intercourse. 

Sexual Assault investigations can include child victims, historical cases, same sex assaults, domestic incidents, date rape, known offender and stranger incidents. 

The Halton Regional Police Service works with community partners to prevent and respond to sexual assault issues.  These partners include Nina’s Place (Sexual Assault / Domestic Violence Care Centre, SAVIS, and other victim services organizations.

Did You Know?

Only 6-10% of all sexual assaults are reported to the police.

1 out of 4 women will be the victim of some form of sexual assault in their lifetime.

87% of sexual offenders are known to their victims.
