Our Media Relations Officers are the official spokespersons for the Halton Regional Police Service and act as the primary liaisons between the police service and the media.
Communications for emergency and major incidents
Whenever feasible, the Halton Regional Police Service will provide information to the public on emergencies and major incidents. Such information is released through direct notification to media agencies and postings to our website and Twitter account. If necessary, the information will include alert or warning messages and instructions.
The immediate release of information will be dependent on public, victim and officer safety concerns as well as investigative integrity.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made an arrest and charged a male after a lengthy fraud investigation involving an elderly female victim.
The police investigation began in 2022 after the victim’s family became aware of concerning financial transactions being made by the victim. The elderly female lives alone and is considered vulnerable.

Serious Head-On Collision in Milton

At approximately 5:20pm on the 2nd of May 2024, the Halton Regional Police Service was notified of a serious motor vehicle collision involving two cars on Sixth Line Nassagaweya Line south of No 25 Side Road in Milton. Initial investigation indicates that a southbound Honda Civic driven by a 20 year old male from Milton, collided with a northbound Mazda driven by a 29 year old male from Acton.
