Fallen Officers in Halton Region

Detective Constable Michael Tidball

D/Cst. Tidball tragically passed away January 6, 2021, while on-duty as a result of a medical episode. 

Michael was a 13-year veteran of the Halton Regional Police Service and spent time working in Uniform Patrol in Oakville, as a member of the Oakville Criminal Investigations Bureau and the Regional Frauds Unit. Michael was also a member of the Crisis Negotiator Team.

Michael will be remembered as being a funny, loyal, and caring person who always had time to help others.

 Michael's memory will live on through all who knew and worked with him.

Constable Bill Henshaw

Cst. Henshaw passed away on June 8 , 2010, while on-duty at HRPS Headquarters. 

A 33-year veteran with the HRPS, Bill spent time as the Firearms Instructor, as well as being a member of both the Tactical Rescue Unit and the Training Bureau. Bill spent considerable time as a frontline patrol officer serving the City of Burlington, Town of Milton and Town of Halton Hills. 

Bill was known as a kind, and gentle person who loved serving the community of Burlington where he lived.

The Halton Regional Police Service proudly honours the memory of all Police and Peace officers who have died in the line of duty. These men and women are remembered provincially at the Ontario Police Memorial and nationally at the Canadian Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial. 

They will be remembered for their dedication and courage.
